About
Our Studio

GormanWorks is a premier training venue in Melbourne's eastern suburbs for emerging and experienced actors to get great technique and on set experience. GormanWorks is a space where teachers and facilitators care about who you are and where you are on your journey. You'll learn the 'ins and outs' of working on a film set and along the way, gain confidence, meet fellow artists and have fun.
Whether you're just starting or ready to turn professional, the guidance and direction from our teachers is for you as an individual and where you are right now in your journey. We keep our classes small and teach to the individual, not the class; acting is never one size fits all.
The industry and audiences need actors as diverse as society itself to tell our communities' stories authentically - this is about your journey as an actor.
All levels are welcome.

“ GormanWorks is not your average screen acting studio. Walking in, you know you’re surrounded not only by experienced and practicing industry professionals, but also great teachers. Equipped with a variety of film sets and industry standard technology, this studio offers an extraordinary learning opportunity regardless of the level you’re currently at. “

"Great vibes and coaching! Also really valuable to put my skill to work every week on a set, and have the footage to self-reflect after! Thanks Kate and Charmaine!"
Nathan Carter
"What I loved about the classes is that they teach not just acting for camera, but also on-screen camera technique. With their fantastic three camera studio, you’re also learning the day to day practicalities of working on a functioning set which is invaluable for anyone who wants to make a career on screen. Add to this the constant turnover of scripts you’re preparing, and it becomes a great blend of professional working experience with a safe and supportive learning environment."
